Bipolar Depression and What It Is All About

Do you know what bipolar depression is? It is a mental disorder where you will be experiencing depression and manic phase on an alternate basis. During the phase of depression you will feel very sad, worthless and sometimes angry. Most of the times you will feel lethargic and you need more napping hours than usual. Anxiety and mood swings will be your best friends during this phase of depression. You only want to stay at home and you hate meeting people. During this phase of bipolar depression, there is a tendency that you will be having negative thoughts all the time.

The other side of bipolar depression is the manic stage. During the manic stage you will feel very confident of yourself. You are extremely happy without any specific reasons. You are not afraid to get involved in any forms of activities including the risky ones. This means you might have the tendency to try new things that you will never do during the negative depression phase. Examples of risky activities that you might get involved during the manic bipolar depression phase are drug abusing, free sex and reckless driving.

There are many other symptoms you can detect in a person who is suffering from bipolar depression. During the manic stage you might not be able to fall asleep even when you are sleepy. It is strange how you can stay awake for days and still have loads of energy. At the same time, you don’t feel depressed at all but rather too optimistic and very excited. You tend to believe that you are capable of doing just about anything even though there is risk to it.

During the low or negative bipolar depression phase, you will suddenly lose interest in everything and you might feel as if the world is coming to an end and there is nothing you can do about it.
